Studio Plog is an Antwerp-based atelier, specialized in elaborate design and production of both light and sound goods.
As a violin-bow maker, Nico Plog has been building the most sophisticated products since 2008. He created his own creative lab and everything in Nico’s workshop is based on traditional craftsmanship. 'The outcome is remarkable: Top violinists like Tetzlaff play with a Plog, also on recordings.
As his bows go around the world Nico expands his horizon as well, his excellent ear as his guide. Through thorough research he has created 'June 1', a beautiful high-end Hi-Fi speaker.
Driven by the motto 'One Idea Every Morning', materials and their possibilities are an inexhaustible source of inspiration for Plog.
In his most recent designs, from instrument stands to intimate light installations, Nico explores different materials: steel and brass as well as wood, stone, fabric, glass and fiberglass.
Further, a successful collaboration with Studio De Schutter (an architectural lighting design consultancy based in Berlin) encouraged Nico to continue developing refined lighting.
Studio Plog is currently working on both outdoor eye-catchers and subtle, ingenious indoor luminaires.
